- Porcelain angel figurine in memory of Touri Hamzavi Bolourchi. The figurine is white and light pink in color and holding an open book.
- Historical Notes
- Born in Tehran, Touri Bolourchi and her husband, Akbar, left Iran in 1981 and settled in Los Angeles, California, to raise their two daughters. A retired nurse who had been educated in England, Touri spoke six languages and loved cooking intricate dishes for company. On September 11, she boarded Flight 175 to return home after visiting her eldest daughter and her family. Touri was 69 years old.
Curator's Comment
The Bolourchi family placed angel figurines at the vigils following the September 11 attacks. This angel figurine was donated by the family to represent that gesture.
