Sign, Recovered
- Description
- Damaged "That's all Folks!" sign recovered from the Warner Bros. Studio Store on the concourse level of the World Trade Center. The sign is missing parts of some letters and is cracked in multiple places.
- Historical Notes
- Before 9/11, an indoor shopping mall occupied 325,000 square feet in the World Trade Center belowground concourse. Following the towers’ collapse, rescue workers searched the concourse, deep below the pile of wreckage, for survivors and victims. Days after 9/11, engineers examined the same subterranean areas to pinpoint instabilities that might endanger workers above. Remnants of store merchandise would be salvaged months later.
