- Description
- Memorial patch created in memory of Keith George Fairben. The patch has a bald eagle at the top with a banner and embroidered text: "Est. 1910." "Reliance Eng. Co. #2" is embroidered in a scroll below the eagle. Below the scroll is an American flag with a Maltese cross in the center. "FP," "126," and "FD" are embroidered in the center of the cross.
- Historical Notes
- Keith Fairben lived in his native Floral Park, Long Island, with his parents. Keith began volunteering at his local fire department at age 18 and rose to the rank of lieutenant. He made a career as a paramedic with NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. On September 11, he responded to the World Trade Center with his ambulance partner. Keith was 24 years old.
