T-Shirt
- Description
- Gray T-shirt created in memory of the first responders from FDNY Squad 288 and Hazmat 1 lost on 9/11, including John A. Crisci. On the left breast of the shirt is a Maltese cross with printed text in the cross: "SQ 228 | FDNY | HM 1 | 9-11-01." "In Memory Of | Our Fallen Brothers" is printed above and below the cross. On the back of the shirt is an image of the Twin Towers with the logo for Squad 288 on the left and the logo for Hazmat 1 on the right. The rank and names of 19 victims are listed in the "clouds" surrounding the image of the Towers. "In Memory Of" is printed at the top and "Never to be Forgotten" is printed at the bottom.
- Historical Notes
- Brooklyn-born John Crisci lived with his wife, Raffaella, and their three sons in Holbrook, Long Island. He was known among coworkers, family, and neighbors for his backyard dinners and special homemade barbecue sauce. John worked as a firefighter in FDNY Hazmat Company 1. On September 11, Lieutenant Crisci had just finished a 24-hour shift when he responded to the World Trade Center. He was 48 years old.
