T-Shirt

- White T-shirt created in memory of Robert David Peraza. The front of the shirt includes a photo transfer depicting Peraza and printed text: "We LOVE You Rob! | 'Marathon Man.'" On the left sleeve of the shirt is printed "2001 | NYC Marathon | #18416." On the back of the shirt is an illustration of a big apple with the skin peeling away and an image in the center depicting the skyline with the Twin Towers, Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge with an American flag in the background. "Proudly 'We' Stand" is printed below the image.
- Historical Notes
- Newark, Delaware, native Robert Peraza lived in New York City. He often took walks in Central Park with his girlfriend, Megan, and his dog. He was also training for the New York City Marathon, which he was to run for the first time in fall 2001. Robert was a vice president and bond trader at Cantor Fitzgerald. On September 11, he was at work on the North Tower’s 104th floor. Robert was 30 years old.
Curator's Comment
Robert was registered to run in the New York City Marathon on November 4, 2001. His uncle Steve ran in his place wearing a shirt like this.
