T-Shirt
- Description
- Gray T-shirt created in memory of Nicholas P. Rossomando. On the left breast of the shirt is the image of a fire helmet and printed text: "FF Nicholas Rossomando | Forever In Our Hearts | September 11, 2001." On the back of the shirt is printed text: "In Memory of FF Nicholas Rossomando | 'An American Hero.'" "RESCUE 5 FDNY" is printed in the center, with the letters forming an American flag. The bottom of the shirt is cut off.
- Historical Notes
- Brooklyn native Nicholas Rossomando lived in Westerleigh, Staten Island. He was skilled at carpentry and karate—interests he combined by renovating the karate school where he trained. He also enjoyed cooking for his girlfriend, Tammi, her son, and coworkers at FDNY Rescue Company 5. On September 11, Firefighter Rossomando had finished his shift but reported to the towers with his unit. He was 35 years old.
