- Memorial bookmark created in memory of William Arthur Gardner. The bookmark includes a photograph and printed text: "In Loving Memory of | William A. Gardner | September 11, 2001" followed by a poem. The reverse side of the bookmark features an image of praying hands. A yellow tassel is attached to the top of the bookmark.
- Historical Notes
- New York native William Gardner lived in Lynbrook, Long Island, with his wife, Elisabet, and their two sons, ages 12 and 16. At home, William spent time in his garden, where he had planted a fig tree for his wife as a Mother’s Day gift. On September 11, William, a systems analyst at Cantor Fitzgerald subsidiary eSpeed, was at his office on the North Tower’s 103rd floor. He was 45 years old.
