- Acrylic on canvas painting titled Ground 0, created in 2002 by Lola Sáenz. White paint on black depicts a small circle filled with abstract representations of human figures. Around the outer edge is a jagged ring-like lightning bolt in the shape of a G. The word “round” is at the side, combined with the perimeter G to spell “Ground.”
- Historical Notes
- New York-based artist, Lola Sáenz witnessed the attack at the World Trade Center on 9/11. Her abstract painting depicts figures reaching out to one another. Ground 0 was a study painting for her final work titled Falling Leaves.
