- Bronx-born William Pohlmann lived in Ardsley, New York, with his wife, Linda. They had three sons. John was an assistant deputy commissioner at the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance. He was also a volunteer firefighter and a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. On September 11, William was at work on the South Tower’s 87th floor and tried to rescue those who were trapped. He was 56 years old.

Pohlmann wore this pin during his run for Westchester County Justice in 1988.
