- Memorial bookmark created in memory of Calixto Anaya, Jr.. The bookmark includes a photograph and printed text: "Calixto Anaya, Jr. | 'Charlie.'" The reverse side of the bookmark includes a poem titled "To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me." A yellow tassel is attached to the top of the bookmark.
- Historical Notes
- Native New Yorker Calixto Anaya lived in Suffern, New York, with his wife, Marie, and their three children. The former U.S. Marine flew the U.S. flag when the family was camping or at the beach as well as at home. He was a firefighter at FDNY Engine Company 4 and a volunteer at Suffern’s firehouse. On September 11, Firefighter Anaya responded to the World Trade Center with his unit. He was 35 years old.
