- Hockey jersey created in memory of Andrew Stergiopoulos. The jersey is black and yellow with an image of a hockey stick and puck with "STERG" printed in the center. The number "54" is printed on the back.
- Historical Notes
- Growing up in Great Neck on Long Island, Andrew Stergiopoulos played football, lacrosse, and hockey. He cofounded his college’s lacrosse team. After graduation, Andrew moved to New York City and joined Cantor Fitzgerald subsidiary eSpeed, where in his first year he helped develop more than 20 financial patents. On September 11, Andrew was at work on the North Tower’s 105th floor. He was 23 years old.
Curator's Comment
This jersey was given to the Stergiopoulos family at a commemorative hockey game in 2003 in memory of Andrew. Andrew's number was 54.
