- Description
- Lapel pin given to the family of Sara Elizabeth Low and created in memory of the flight crews of American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77, and United Airlines Flight 93. The pin is a blue enamel shield with gold-colored trim. “ALWAYS ABOVE" is printed in raised text at the bottom and the numerals “11," "77," "175," and 93” are in red raised text surrounding a gold-colored raised airplane emblem in the center.
- Historical Notes
- A native of Batesville, Arkansas, Sara Low moved into her own apartment in Boston in 2001. She and her mother spent the summer decorating the place. From an early age, Sara often joined her father on his small plane. After earning a business degree, she went to work in 1999 as a flight attendant for American Airlines. On September 11, Sara was working aboard Flight 11. She was 28 years old.
