- White cotton handkerchief given to the family of Mary Jane Booth. The number "77," indicating American Airlines Flight 77, is embroidered in blue and red in the bottom left corner of the handkerchief, with a yellow halo around the second "7."
- Historical Notes
- Born in Washington, D.C., Mary Jane Booth lived in Falls Church, Virginia. She had worked for American Airlines for 45 years, 30 of which were spent as secretary to the airline’s manager at Dulles International Airport. Mary mentored coworkers and played Mrs. Santa Claus at holiday parties. On September 11, she boarded Flight 77 en route to a meeting of the employees’ credit union. Mary was 64 years old.
