A lover of classical Greek literature, Michael took the family on vacation to the Aegean Islands in 2001. Michael worked as a managing director at Merrill Lynch. Curator's Comment
An expert in finance and technology, Michael Packer brought his enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity to his work and his family life. He conducted scientific experiments with his daughter and son and helped them practice for music lessons. Michael’s children regularly joined him in his basement woodshop where he built everything from toys to harpsichords. According to his wife, Rekha, he “loved nothing better than the smooth feeling of a plank of oak board in his woodshop, planed until it was completely true."
