- Historical Notes
- Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Boyie Mohammed lived in Brooklyn. He and his wife, Lynette, had two children. Boyie said he looked forward to one day becoming a grandparent, retiring, and spending his days with the family. On September 11, Boyie was in his office on the 92nd floor of the North Tower, where he worked as a trader for Carr Futures. He was 50 years old.
Curator's Comment
Boyie Mohammed moved from Trinidad to New York with his family in 1986. His daughter, Isha, described her father as her “laughing buddy.” Once they began laughing together, they could not stop until tears ran down their faces. He joked with Isha that if she ever became very rich, he would retire and become a stay-at-home grandfather. Boyie would never meet his grandchildren.
