- Fayetteville, North Carolina native Brian Nunez lived in Willowbrook on Staten Island. His interests were varied—from drawing comic book characters and fixing electronics to fishing and competing in local darts leagues. Brian was an office manager at Cantor Fitzgerald’s subsidiary eSpeed. On September 11, he was at work on the North Tower’s 104th floor. He was 29 years old.
Curator's Comment
Extroverted and social, Brian Nunez entertained family and friends with his witty quips and sense of humor. “Brian would crack a joke and the whole room would laugh,” said his brother Neil. “You could be having a really serious discussion and a minute later you’d be laughing." The outgoing 29-year-old participated in dart leagues at bars across Staten Island and joined a bowling league. This plaque commemorates Brian’s participation in the 1996 Staten Island National Darts Conference.
