Certificate of provenance issued by Stephan T. Ayers, Architect of the Capitol, for the flag flown over the U.S. Capitol, on May 2, 2011. The certificate is housed in a blue leather certificate portfolio with the U.S. House of Representatives seal on the front. The certificate reads:
"THE FLAG | OF THE | UNITED STATES | OF AMERICA | This is to certify that the accompanying flag was flown over the United | States Capitol on May 2, 2011. | At the request of the Honorable Ken Calvert, Member of Congress, this | flag was flown to commemorate the day U.S. Special Forces raided a | compound in Pakistan and delivered the full wrath of American might | upon our enemy." - Historical Notes
- Republican Congressman Ken Calvert, representing the 42nd congressional district of southern California, arranged for this American flag to be flown over the U.S. Capitol on May 2, 2011 to commemorate the end of the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
