- Description
- Greeting card with a handwritten thank-you note inside from Mychal F. Judge. The note is dated June 2000 and is addressed to David Bernstein. The front of the card depicts an illustration of a monk transcribing, and the address of the Franciscan Friars is on the back.
- Historical Notes
- Brooklyn-born Father Mychal Judge lived in a Manhattan friary. A Catholic priest and Franciscan friar, he spent his life tending the sick, homeless, and grieving. In 1992, he became an FDNY chaplain, accompanying firefighters to fires and ministering to them afterward. On September 11, Father Judge responded to the towers to offer prayers and last rites. He was 68 years old.
