Years later, after settling in Long Beach, Long Island, with his wife, Gabrielle, and their daughter, he rejoined his childhood team as a coach. Curator's Comment
Stephen Hoffman and his identical twin, Gregory, were born three minutes apart. From then on, the brothers were often side by side. At Gregory’s wedding, Stephen wore a button that read “I’m the best man,” and Gregory wore one stating “I’m the groom.” “Some people still got confused,” admitted Gregory. The brothers settled in nearby Long Island communities with their wives and young daughters, often spending weekends at the beach. After Stephen’s death on 9/11, Gregory taught his niece to surf, honoring a goal Stephen had set for his daughter.
