- Mug belonging to Joseph Gerard Leavey. The mug is white with green shamrocks and "HIMSELF" printed in green-colored text. "Lt. LEAVEY" is handwritten at the top of the mug in green marker.
- Historical Notes
- Native New Yorker Joseph Leavey lived in Pelham, New York, with his wife, Carole. Two of their three children were still at home. An architecture fan whose favorite buildings were the Twin Towers, Joseph worked as a construction engineer before joining FDNY Ladder Company 15. On September 11, Lieutenant Leavey was heard on a radio transmission on the South Tower’s 78th floor. He was 45 years old.
