- Toy model car from a collection belonging to Michael C. Opperman. The car is a white 1966 Mustang and is housed in a plastic display case.
- Historical Notes
- Manhattan-born Michael Opperman lived with his wife, Deborah, and their two children in Selden, Long Island. They had met in high school, when he was known as Mustang Mike for the cars he drove. A senior vice president at Aon Corporation, Michael would leave for work early so he could return home in time for family dinner. On September 11, he was at work on the South Tower’s 103rd floor. He was 45 years old.
Curator's Comment
Michael owned two Ford Mustang cars in his life and was nicknamed "Mustang Mike."
