- Gray-tan suit coat belonging to Ferdinand V. Morrone and worn on September 11, 2001.
- Historical Notes
- Brooklyn-born Ferdinand Morrone, known as Fred, lived in Lakewood, New Jersey. He and his wife, Linda, raised three children. After more than 30 years in law enforcement, he became the PAPD’s director of public safety and superintendent of police and was stationed at Police Headquarters in Jersey City. On September 11, Director Morrone was seen aiding evacuees near the North Tower’s 45th floor. He was 63 years old.

Morrone left this suit coat in his SUV the morning of September 11 before he went to work.
