- Description
- Medal created in memory of Peter Burton Hanson, Sue Kim Hanson, and Christine Lee Hanson. The metal depicts an airplane flying over the New York City skyline with the Twin Towers. Printed text reads: "PETER-SUE-CHRISTINE | HANSON | 911." The medal is attached to a red, white, and blue ribbon with a bar pin.
- Historical Notes
- Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Peter Hanson lived in Groton, Massachusetts, with his wife, Sue Hanson, and their daughter, Christine Hanson. A fan of the Grateful Dead band, he eventually traded his tie-dyed shirts for business attire. He was a vice president of marketing at TimeTrade Systems. On September 11, Peter, Sue, and Christine boarded Flight 175 to see family in Los Angeles. He was 32 years old.

The medal was distributed to friends who were in a camping group with the Hansons.
