- Memorial button created in memory of Joshua Iosua Poptean. The heart-shaped button is red with white printed text: "ROLLING REQUIEM | 9-11 2002." "Joshua Poptean" is signed in the center in black marker.
- Historical Notes
- As a youth in his native Romania, Joshua Poptean trained as a horse jockey. In his teens, he came to the United States with his family. As an adult, Joshua lived in North Flushing, Queens, and was a project manager for Bronx Builders. On September 11, Joshua was with colleagues on the North Tower’s 107th floor, meeting with Windows on the World staff about a project. He was 37 years old.
Curator's Comment
For the Rolling Requiem project, choirs around the world sang Mozart’s Requiem at 8:46 a.m. local time on the anniversary of September 11.
