Car Door, Recovered
- Description
- Recovered car door from a damaged NYPD vehicle. The door is dark blue with white detailing and white printed text: "COURTESY | PROFESSIONALISM | RESPECT." The number "343" is spray-painted in red on the window.
- Historical Notes
- Nearly 1,400 damaged vehicles were recovered from around Ground Zero and transported to Fresh Kills Landfill for search and disposal. This door was recovered and saved.
