- Description
- Prayer card created in memory of Arthur Thaddeus Barry. The front of the card features a photograph of Barry wearing his fire helmet with printed text: "ARTHUR T. BARRY | F.D.N.Y." The back of the card includes printed text: "In Loving Memory of | ARTHUR T. BARRY | October 22, 1965 | September 11, 2001," followed by a prayer.
- Historical Notes
- Arthur Barry, a lifelong resident of Westerleigh on Staten Island, lived with his parents. A motorcyclist who had ridden coast to coast, Arthur was a second-generation firefighter who joined the FDNY in 1993 and worked at Ladder Company 15. On September 11, Firefighter Barry was on vacation but made his way to the towers to join the rescue effort. He was 35 years old.
