- Book titled The Plains Indians by Colin F. Taylor gifted to Timothy Fitzpatrick by Richard Cyril Rescorla. Rescorla hand wrote a note to Timothy inside the book that bears the date January 4, 2000. The note includes a small drawing as well as Rescorla's handprint.
- Historical Notes
- Richard Rescorla lived in Morristown, New Jersey, with his wife, Susan. He had two grown children. A retired U.S. Army colonel and Vietnam War veteran, Richard was Morgan Stanley’s vice president of security. On September 11, he sang “God Bless America” and songs from his native England as he directed the evacuation of thousands of Morgan Stanley employees from the South Tower. Richard was 62 years old.
Curator's Comment
Richard gave Tim this book when Tim joined the Blackfeet Youth Initiative, a cross-cultural youth program that brings together Native Americans and other young people to provide service to their communities.
