Airplane Fragment, Recovered
Description
Recovered airplane fragment with irregular edges and yellow spray-paint markings.
Historical Notes
Pedestrians on blocks surrounding the World Trade Center encountered unfamiliar metal objects on the ground. Not everyone immediately recognized these as parts of the aircrafts that had struck the Twin Towers.
