Lure
- Description
- Streamer lure for fly fishing left at the 9/11 Memorial in memory of Robert Walter Noonan. The fly is made with white hair, red feathers, and iridescent string attached to a hook with a red eye. The fly was attached to the parapet with a piece of blue painters' tape. A handwritten note on the tape reads: "Robbie, stopped by to say hi | 20 years! We came by boat. | Think of you every time I fish. | Off to Costa Rica next. Miss you. Love Willie."

- Evanston, Illinois, native Robert Noonan was married to his high school sweetheart, Dana. They lived in Greenwich, Connecticut, with their young son. Relatives appreciated his energy at family gatherings, where Robert often played and wrestled with the children. Robert worked as a trader at Cantor Fitzgerald. On September 11, he was at his office on the North Tower’s 105th floor. Robert was 36 years old.

This lure was left on the N-49 parapet of the North Pool on the 9/11 Memorial for Robert Walter Noonan on July 18, 2021.
