Prayer Card
- Description
- Prayer card created in memory of Michael D. Mullan. The front of the card features an illustration of a person being embraced by Christ in heaven. The back of the card features a photograph of Mullan wearing his fire helmet. Printed text on the card reads: "Michael Dermott Mullan | New York Firefighter Died Heroically | in the Line of Duty September 11, 2001 | At the World Trade Center." Below the photograph is a printed prayer.
- Historical Notes
- Lifelong Queens resident Michael Mullan lived with his parents in Flushing. In his free time, Michael played the piano and earned a black belt in karate. A captain in the U.S. Army Reserve and a registered nurse, Michael served with FDNY Ladder Company 12. On September 11, Firefighter Mullan was last seen returning to the Marriott hotel to aid members of his unit who were trapped. He was 34 years old.
