Prayer Card
- Description
- Prayer card created in memory of Calixto Anaya, Jr. The front of the card features a photograph of Anaya in his bunker gear and fire helmet. In the top right corner is the Marine Corps flag. The back of the card includes the Fireman's Prayer.
- Historical Notes
- Native New Yorker Calixto Anaya lived in Suffern with his wife, Marie, and their three children. The former U.S. Marine flew the U.S. flag when the family was camping or at the beach as well as at home. He was a firefighter at FDNY Engine Company 4 and a volunteer at Suffern’s firehouse. On September 11, Firefighter Anaya responded to the World Trade Center with his unit. He was 35 years old.
