- Print photograph left at the 9/11 Memorial in memory of Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas and her unborn child, undated. The black-and-white photograph depicts Lauren standing by a window filled with light, wearing a cropped shirt and a wrapped skirt; her midriff is showing. She appears to be staring down at her stomach/feet. Attached to the photograph is printed text that reads: "In Memory of | Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas and her unborn child | August 31st 1963 - September 11th 2001 | Flight 93 Shanksville, Pennsylvania | Jack's beloved wife, Larry and Barbara's cherished | daughter, Dara and Vaughn's courageous sister. | Dearest friend to many. Mother to be. | A courageous hero who lived life to the fullest and | gave unconditionally to others. | Happy Birthday Lauren! We remember you..."
- Historical Notes
- A native of Bloomington, Indiana, Lauren Grandcolas lived in San Rafael, California, with her husband, Jack. They were expecting their first child. An advertising sales consultant for Good Housekeeping magazine, Lauren was also writing a self-improvement book for women. On September 11, she boarded Flight 93 to return home after attending her grandmother’s funeral in New Jersey. She was 38 years old.

This photo was left on the S-68 parapet of the South Pool on the 9/11 Memorial for Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas and her unborn child on August 31, 2022.
