- Child's handmade marker drawing created by Leah, a Wyoming resident, in 2011 for inclusion in the book Faces of Hope: Ten Years Later. The drawing depicts a person on a street holding a large American flag. There are houses, a school building, and a playground. In the sky the words "Fire | Works | Night" are written. The text that accompanied the drawing in the book reads:
"I will make the world a better place by becoming a teacher. All children need a good education for their future. I will teach them reading and writing, math and science, art and lots of other subjects. If all children are safe and have enough to eat and get a good education, the world will be a much better place, and we will all be good to the earth and the people and the animals and find cures for diseases instead of fighting in wars." - Historical Notes
- This drawing is from the Faces of Hope project, which tracked children from each state born on September 11, 2001. On the 10th anniversary of the attacks, each child reflected on how they would make the world a better place as adults. This artist from Wyoming wanted to become a teacher.
