Design Plan
Golden OpportUNITY For Unity
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003,titled “Golden OpportUNITY For Unity.” This design plan began with a dream that the designer had 22 years before 9/11. The designer did not understand the significance of this dream, which included a vision for a sculpture titled “Golden OpportUNITY for Unity.” The vision ultimately manifested itself as the design entry to the competition. The sculpture is a sundial 26 feet tall and 16 feet wide cast from brass and standing on a marble pedestal in the center of a marble fountain. The pedestal houses a clock mechanism that revolves indefinitely.
