Design Plan
- Description
- Untitled foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003. This design plan incorporates the movement of sun and shadow as it interacts with the memorial. Two 30-foot blocks take the space of the footprints of the towers. The block representing the North Tower serves as a tunnel, providing access to a memorial garden constructed on the Hudson River where the sun cast the Towers’ shadow on 9/11. The garden includes a chapel, a mausoleum, and individual markers for each victim. The block representing the South Tower is a memorial for the February 26, 1993 attack.
