Design Plan

Untitled foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003. This design plan incorporates multiple memorial elements representing each attack site on 9/11. The North Tower footprint becomes a five-foot spiraling star made of bronze metal. The spiral ends at the entrance for the memorial to Shanksville. This element is a stone pillar with a white dove at the top and a water feature, surrounded by landscaping native to Pennsylvania. The Pentagon area is made of colored granite in the shape of a Pentagon with elements reflective of the Great Seal of the United States. The South Tower footprint includes an uncapped pyramid with a pillar fountain, a peace symbol, a tomb-like monument, and tridents from the original WTC. Also included are obelisks, eternal flames, benches, and landscaping.
