Design Plan
- Description
- Untitled foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003. This design plan includes a central sculpture, which represents the core of the memorial. A crystalline structure includes an interior wind chamber with swirls of thousands of small silver pieces of paper, creating a vortex of motion, light, and chaos. These papers include words from the living offered to the dead. The footprints of the towers are represented by two elements: the North Tower is represented by fire with a grid of lights and flames set within the space, one representing each victim. The South Tower is represented by water with a reflecting pool.
