Design Plan
Dispersed Monument
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003, titled “Dispersed Monument.” This design proposes the creation of transparent plates placed all over the city in an eight-mile radius. The location of the plates is determined by where the sightlines of the towers used to be, allowing people to see the view from when the towers stood while also memorializing their absence. The number of plates would match the victim count. At the site itself, the tower footprints are replaced with a void in the South Tower and a map of the plates across the city in the North Tower.
