Design Plan
A Memorial in the Sky
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003 titled “ A Memorial in the Sky.” This design plan proposes creating a large sphere suspended in the air by tethers. The height of the suspended sphere would be approximately the height of the first plane's impact. The top half of the sphere is translucent, emitting light. The bottom half is aluminum with the names of the victims inscribed on it. The footprints of the towers will be replaced by pools of water.
