Design Plan
- Description
- Untitled foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003. This design plan proposes a memorial that can be shared between the countries with victims. Since the terrorist attack had a global impact, the designer believed that the memorial should have a global presence. The concept for the memorial is a sidewalk slab, one for each victim, with their name, age, hometown, and death date printed on each slab. The slabs are inlaid along the existing sidewalks near the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Additional slabs would be distributed to the home states and countries of relevant victims. Each victim family can also request a slab to place at the site of their choosing.
