Design Plan
- Description
- Untitled foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003. This design plan focuses on the duality of individual victims' lives: their personal life in contrast to the relationships they had with their work and colleagues. The design proposes creating one container for each victim. The container lid is in two pieces: a disk and a ring from which the disk is cut. The disk would be placed at the memorial site, and the ring would be taken by family members to a place of personal significance, such as their home. The container would contain objects of significance to the victim and buried at the site in undisclosed locations. The footprints of the towers would be filled with lush gardens and a waterfall.
