Design Plan
- Description
- Untitled foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003. This design plan features a Memorial Mound that spirals around the a Path of Memory and climbs 60 feet high. Its walls include information about the victims. The mound itself is created from wind pipes that represent each victim and interact with the wind to create a mournful sound as visitors travel up the mound. At the top is the Symphony of Sorrow, a cloud of several thousand wind chimes suspended 200 feet high. The chimes offer a lighter, more hopeful sound and are attached to wind catchers, one for each victim.
