Design Plan
The Lamenting Cloud
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003, titled “The Lamenting Cloud.” This design plan was inspired by the dust cloud but imagines a new kind of sonic cloud created from a field of totemic chimes, one for each victim. These chimes are harmonically engineered and would include a space for information about the victims. Additionally, a glass finial would rest at the top of each chime, the height of which correlating to the age of the victim.
