Design Plan
On Wings of Memory
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003, titled “On Wings of Memory.” This design plan proposes transparent Twin Tower memorial structures with metallic birds contained inside that move with the prevailing winds and reinhabit the structural space of the towers. The number of birds would match the victim count. Seating and memorial walls inscribed with the victims' names would encircle the the tower structures. This designer had once worked on the 92nd floor of the North Tower and knew several people who died in the attacks.
