Design Plan
- Description
- Untitled foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003. This design plan features a large, dark circular pit intended to make the visitor feel slight vertigo, recalling the sensation experienced by many on the day of the attacks—as if the world had turned upside down. The events of 9/11 are represented around the pit to look like a clock that spirals towards the center. A timeline is carved into the clock's face. This design also includes a staircase and a whirlwind of paper. The footprints of the towers would be left to “return to the wild,” covered in dirt, grass, and trees.
