Design Plan
In Remembrance…
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003 titled “In Remembrance…” The design plan features a Mosaic Tree surrounded by a body of water fed by two flowing streams. The Mosaic Tree would be created from over 3,000 sections of petrified wood. Additionally, visitors would receive a Memorial Stone upon entrance and would be encouraged to place the stone anywhere on the memorial. The accumulation of stones would create pathways around the site. Two tower structures will also replace the Twin Towers and elevate the footprints into the sky. The towers will not be functional workspaces but rather hollow entities with several visitation platforms.
