Design Plan
Pillars of Life
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003, titled “Pillars of Life.” This design plan features massive white pillars aligned in the shape of a teardrop, visible from above the site. Each pillar represents a victim, whose separateness, represents the individuality of each victim, yet he tops of the pillars touch adjacent pillars to represent the connectedness of the victim population. The towers' footprints would be outlined with spotlights surrounding reflection pools and benches.
