Design Plan
- Description
- Untitled foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003. This design plan intended to leave the hole created by the destruction of the site towers permanently intact to signify that the tragedy left a hole in the nation that could never be filled. Leaving the site to “go to seed,” as the earth does after a fire, would bring life back to the area naturally, eventually creating a new “Central Park.” Another element of this design is a spiraling ramp that descends into the site along the periphery, transforming the space into an inverted ziggurat.
