September 11? Love and Peace 24/7
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003, titled “September 11? Love and Peace 24/7.” This design plan uses the space to reflect on the designer's belief that poverty and social injustice are deep-rooted causes of terrorism. Through the creation of the Planetary Peace Party with the Planetary Peace Center HQ, the designer hopes to foster a blueprint for peace that harnesses the “unlimited creative potential” of the world's children. The Peace Center is a pyramid with space for families to make a quiet visitation, as well as an area for celebrations and ceremonies. Solar facades are also incorporated into the design to generate hot water and clean electricity for New York.
