Design Plan
9-11-01 Never Forget
- Description
- Foam core submission board designed for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition in 2003 titled “9-11-01 Never Forget.” This design plan proposes to rebuild the towers from luminous fiber optic glass cables that surround the original footprints, restoring the image of the towers at the site. A central control facility accepts live telephone and computer messages of remembrance fed through the cables as light, illuminating the “towers.” At the core of each tower are individual memorials honoring the victims. The design also includes a memorial garden and a Walk of Heroes.
